Machine Setup - Machine ID and Password -
Modem Password
The Modem Password is used for security purposes. Without using the cor-
rect password the machine will not initiate any communication sessions ( file
transfers, statistic collections, software updates, etc.) via modem or portable
drive.
To enter a password, use the Right and Left buttons to highlight a letter and
press Accept. The letter highlighted will appear as an asterisk ( * ) in the
box at the top of the screen and the cursor ( _ ) will move right, ready for
the next letter. Pressing Accept multiple times will repeat the highlighted let-
ter.
Highlighting Delete and pressing Accept will delete the letter to the left of
the cursor. When finished entering the password, highlight Done and press
Accept. Unlike the Machine Name ( page 4.16) the Password is not saved
at this time. You will be prompted to enter the same password a second
time for verification. After entering it the second time, if both match, a
Password Changed message will briefly flash on the screen and the new
password will be saved.
